Student Loan Tips From Your Alamo Heights Apartments

  |     |   Uncategorized

What was your new year’s resolution? We’ve heard a lot of residents of our Alamo Heights apartments talking about resolving to save more money in 2019, and we think that’s a great idea. That’s why we’ve decided to dedicate this week’s blog to the topic of student loans. Paying back your student loans won’t help you save money in the short term, but it will in the long term. The sooner you can get your loans paid off, the sooner you’ll be able to start putting that money towards something else!

In the blog post below, we’ll be sharing a few things that you should know about your student loans. Everyone’s student loan situation is different, but the tips below are general enough to be helpful to anyone. Our hope is that after you read through this week’s blog post, we hope that you feel like you have the knowledge you need to pay back your loans as quickly as possible.

Let’s get right to the list of tips, residents! When you get done reading through the list of tips, please be sure to share the link to this page with your friends and neighbors at Bungalow 09 — the North Central apartments Alamo Heights residents choose for luxury living.

Learn about a graduated repayment plan.

If you’ve got the kind of job where you anticipate getting a raise every year, you might want to consider a graduated repayment plan. This plan will increase your monthly payment every two years, meaning you’ll pay your loans off exponentially faster. This is only a smart move if you think you’ll be making more money in two years than you’re making right now, however, so take that into account when deciding on a repayment plan.

Ask your lender about forbearance.

As much as it might seem that your loans are going to be hanging over your head for every month for the rest of your life, that isn’t necessarily the case. Forbearance allows you to stop making loan payments for a while, meaning you can save that money in the event that you have to stop working for a while or you plan on taking an extended vacation. Ask about forbearance and see if it might make your student loan payment plan a little easier.
