There are a lot of reasons to love living at our apartments in Alamo Heights, but perhaps no reason is more important than proximity to some of San Antonio’s top employers. When you live near the place where you work, it’s easy to find time for everything else in your life. We want to make sure our residents are making the most of their time in our community of apartments, which is why we’ve decided to dedicate this week’s blog to the topic of work-life balance.
In the post below, we’ll be sharing some tips about how to best manage your work with the rest of your life. It’s a lot easier said than done, but it is possible. Even if you love your job and the work that you do, it’s important to draw a line between the time when you’re at work and the time that you spend with family and friends. The more you can do this, the better off you’ll be.
Now that we’ve gotten the intro out the way, let’s dive right into this week’s blog! When you’re done reading through it, please be sure to share the link to this page with your friends. Better yet, go ahead and send this post with your neighbors at your community of Alamo Heights apartments!
“You have to balance your passions, not your time.”
– Lisa Sugar, founder of PopSugar
One of the best ways to keep your work-life balance intact is to discover your passions outside of the office. If you devote all your energy to a single passion, you might feel unfulfilled in the event that you’re not finding success with that passion. Make sure you have a diverse array of things that you care about so that all your eggs don’t end up in one basket.
“You will never find time for anything. If you want time, you must make it.”
– Charles Buxton, English philanthropist
If you ever find yourself using the phrase, “I’ll try to make time for that,’ you might want to consider the quote above. We rarely find ourselves with a whole lot of extra time on our hands, which it’s why it’s so important to be proactive when you want to create free time for yourself. Plan ahead. Set a schedule. Wake up earlier. The more you can be proactive about your time management, the more time you’ll have to do the things you love.
“Most people chase success at work, thinking that will make them happy. The truth is that happiness at work will make you successful.”
– Alexander Kjerulf, “The Chief Happiness Officer”
Our last tip is a simple one. If you can find ways to be happy at work, you might find that you’re better at your job. Being happy at work can spill over into the rest of your life, so be sure to make it a priority!
