Furnishing Tips for your Alamo Heights Apartments

  |     |   Uncategorized

How would you describe the style you’ve created inside your Alamo Heights apartments? Whether you have a definitive style or not, you probably know the kind of furniture you like and the kind you simply can’t stand. Everyone has different ideas about what kind of furniture looks good in a room, but there are some furnishing rules that hold true no matter what kind of style you’re trying to create. In the blog post below, we’ll explain a few of those rules!

Buying furniture for an apartment is a little tricky because of the fact that you probably won’t be in the same apartment forever. You’ve got to be willing to be flexible and willing to switch your style up if it isn’t working in your new space. If you follow these tried and true apartment furnishing rules, however, you shouldn’t have any problem creating a beautiful space that works for you and your roommates or significant others.

Without further delay, let’s dive right into this week’s blog! Oh, and when you’re done reading through this week’s blog post, please be sure to share this post with your friends and neighbors at your community of apartments in Alamo Heights.

Keep it light and bright

The more light-colored furniture you have in your apartment, the more open it will seem. Dark furniture seems bigger than it actually is, and it will make the rest of your apartment seem less spacious as a result. Sure, it’s harder to keep light-colored furniture looking clean, but the extra will be worth it when you have an open, airy apartment. If you must create a cozy den of a room, do it in your bedroom instead of the living room, where your guests will be hanging out.

Move the larger pieces away from the entrances

The last thing you want to see when you walk into a room is a big ol’ couch in your visual sightline. The second to last thing is a massive shelf, or a huge TV. Keep this in mind when you’re designing the layout of your apartment. Think about where you’ll enter into your living room and keep all the larger furniture pieces away from that spot. Keep those visual sightlines clear!

Get multi-purpose furniture

A massive sofa can only be a massive sofa, but a sectional couch can be a lot of different things. Love seats are versatile, as are futons. The more multi-purpose pieces you have in your home, the fewer new pieces you’ll have to buy whenever you do end up moving. We love having you here at Bungalow 09, but we understand that nobody lives in the same apartment forever.
