Smartphone on top of a keyboard

Most residents of our apartments in Alamo Heights only use a couple apps every day. Besides the standard social media apps, what else do you really need? The new wave of apps have more to do with productivity and less to do with scrolling through meaningless posts.

While social media apps are mostly a waste of time, productivity apps can actually improve your life. With that in mind, we’ve created a list of the top-ranked productivity apps of 2018. Unlike most of the apps you’re probably currently using, you won’t have to feel guilty about using these apps too much.

Without further delay, let's take a look at the list of apps below! When you’re done reading this week’s post, please be sure to share the link to this post with your friends and neighbors at your community of Alamo Heights apartments.

TIckTick

There are a lot of to-do list apps out there, but most of them are just that — lists. TickTick is cool because it integrates with your calendar to send you reminders. The app is also super well-designed, and apps are always easier to use when they look beautiful. The calendar integration that TickTick offers allows you to drag and drop tasks into different days/weeks, so your to-do list isn’t just one daunting list of tasks. If you’re having trouble doing the little things you need to do, give TickTick a try.

Taskful

The next app on our list if perfect for freelancers or anyone who works from home. Taskful is part to-do list, part project management tool. You tell it the goal you’re trying to achieve, then you tell it all the things you need to do to get to that goal. Having little successes is important, and Taskful will keep you on track as you progress towards your goal.

Oak

Sometimes, the best way to be productive is to do absolutely nothing. Meditation is the latest healthy habit that’s beginning to go mainstream, and that’s probably because it really works. Oak is an app that helps you get in the habit of meditation, and it does that by providing you with a male or female voice to guide you through a 10, 20 or 30 minute meditation. It’s hard to get started with meditating, but once you develop the habit, you’ll understand why people who meditate won’t shut up about it.

Today Habit Tracker

It’s actually not that hard to be productive for a day. The problem is, most people want to be productive every day. Today Habit Tracker will help you develop healthy habits that enable you to be more productive.  Whether you want to workout after work every day, get 8 hours of sleep every night, or simply make dinner every night instead of going out, this app will help you achieve your healthy habit goals. It’s a lot easier to stick to a habit when you get a visual representation of how consistently you’re the activity.
