Reviews of Eateries near your Alamo Heights Apartments

table set at a nice restaurant

Yelp has truly changed the way we think about restaurants. Most residents of our apartments in Alamo Heights read tons of reviews before they decide where to eat. Once they do decide where to eat, they look back at the reviews to figure out what to order. It’s a big change from 10 years ago, when you’d go to a restaurant and just hope the food was good, or choose a restaurant based on a recommendation from one two friends.

Now, good restaurants get good reviews and bad restaurants get bad reviews. We know what’s good and we know what to avoid. This week’s blog is all about reviews, and we hope that by reading it, you’ll be better informed about which restaurants in Alamo Heights are worth your time and money.

Without further ado, let’s talk a look at some restaurant reviews from Yelp. When you’re done reading this post, please be sure to share the link with your friends and neighbors at your community of Alamo Heights apartments.

Dogfather

“How could I *possibly* say no to a donut-encased dog, topped with thick, crispy bacon send a fried egg?! We opted for combos with tater tots, and subbed in fried pickles on one” — Christine M.

Are you drooling yet? Dogfather is like a hotdog stand on steroids, and it’s exactly what you need when you’re starving. Next time you work up an appetite, go reward yourself with a meal from Dogfather. They have fried hot dogs, hot dogs that come inside doughnuts, thai hots dogs, and everything in between.

Cappy’s Restaurant

Service was primo. Extremely attentive, knowledgeable, and welcoming. Seriously knocked it outta the park on this one.  — Shirley C.

Plenty of restaurants have delicious food, but it’s a special restaurant that can pair that amazing food with superb service. When your service is as good as your food, it makes the whole restaurant experience that much better. Cappy’s is known for having some of the best food in San Antonio, so we’re glad to see that they have top notch service to go with it.

Winchester Pub

“ The pub theme is very inviting with a lot of intimate little niches to hang out with friends. We ordered the fish and chips and the salmon salad. Both were exceptional.” — Del C.

Everything we’ve heard about Winchester Pub is that it’s the most inviting restaurant in town. When you’re there, you don’t want to be anywhere else. When it comes down to it, what more can you ask of a restaurant?

Chela’s Tacos

“Whether your taste buds are craving Tex Mex, Asada, Shrimp, Pastor, Yucatán, Fajitas or Michoacán, you certainly can be adventurous at Chela's! “ — Lou C.

We love Tex-Mex restaurants that don’t limit themselves to burritos, beans rice. Chela’s Tacos serves a nice mix of all the Tex-Mex and Mexican food you could ever want. We love this place because the meals are super customizable. They have a massive condiment bar with extra veggies, sauces and toppings you can put on your tacos and burritos!
