Dessert Recipes from your Alamo Heights Apartments

  |     |   Uncategorized

This Valentine’s Day, we’re encouraging residents of our apartments in Alamo Heights to make their own desserts. It’s crazy to pay an arm and a leg for a dessert for a restaurant when you can make 15 servings of the same thing for ⅓ of the price. That’s why we’ve decided to create a list of easy-to-make desserts that you can serve to your Valentine on February 14th.

Check out the list of dessert recipes below, and be sure to share this post with your friends and neighbors at your favorite community of Alamo Heights apartments!

Chocolate Caramel Cream Pie

Making an entire pie for Valentine’s Day is pretty ambitious, but we respect anyone who gives it a shot. Whether you go out to eat or you bake your entire Valentine’s Day dinner at home, this dessert will be a nice surprise at the end for your loved one. Although making the dish itself is a little complicated, it only has to sit in the oven for 10-minutes before it’s ready to eat.

Make sure you have these ingredients before you get started:

  • Vanilla extract

  • Heavy Cream

  • Cornstarch

  • Whole Milk

  • Salt

  • Egg Yolks

  • Dark Brown Sugar

  • Chocolate Wafer Cookies

  • Cognac

  • Bittersweet Chocolate

Cherry Chunk Cookies

Is there anything better than licking the bowl after you’re done making cookies? No, no there is not. That’s exactly what you’ll get to do once you’re done making these cherry chunk cookies. These cookies are super decadent, and the tart cherry flavor pairs well with the sweet chocolate. Bake as many as you can, throw them in a beautifully-wrapped box, and give them as a gift this Valentine’s Day!

Make sure you have these ingredients before you get started:

  • Flour

  • Cherries

  • Cocoa

  • Bittersweet Chocolate

  • Salt

  • Vanilla Extract

  • Baking Soda

  • Eggs

  • Granulated Sugar

  • Brown Sugar

  • Butter

Oreo Cheesecake Cookies

Using Oreos in your dessert is kind of cheating, but we can’t blame you if you decide to use this recipe. Oreos are already delicious, so anything you add them to will also become instantly delicious. In this case, you’re adding them to cheesecake and making a whole new kind of cookies. You’re going to be crumbling a bunch of Oreos into a bowl, so get excited about that. The red food coloring is key here, because without it, your dessert won’t be Valentine’s Day-themed!

Make sure you have these ingredients before you get started:

  • Cream Cheese

  • Oreos

  • Flour

  • Sugar

  • Butter

  • Red Food Coloring

Chocolate-Dipped Pretzels

The last recipe on our list is also the simplest. With this recipe, the final presentation looks so good that your date won’t care that it only took you two seconds to make. These pretzels rods will earn you plenty of style points without forcing you to do real work, making them the ideal dessert for Valentine’s Day. You should be focused on buying candles, wrapping your gift, and making sure your date feels loved. When you have a couple minutes free, you can make these pretzels!

Make sure you have these ingredients before you get started:

  • Pretzel Rods

  • Chocolate Candiquik

  • Sprinkles
